Unfortunately they figured the score sheets incorrectly and announced a different team for first place. After correcting it, they realized our team actually placed first. Half the team had already left for the five hour drive home Sunday night. So us cheer moms pulled together and threw them a party Monday before practice. I wrote a script for me and another mom and we narrated and acted out the awards ceremony to give them their moment to shine that they missed out on. It was really fun :-)
